Who We Are

KeenAble Creation Co. Limited ("KCL") is a charitable organization established in 2009.

Adopting "Disabled Artists . Promote . Incubate" as its slogan, KeenAble Creation has the following mission:-

  • explore, realize and maximize the potential of the disabled in Hong Kong;

  • provide training to the disabled and empower them to be active creators;

  • create work opportunities for the disabled;

  • promote and advertise works of the disabled and products or merchandise derived from their works;

  • promote, advance and enhance the abilities and employability of the disabled.

Sale of the works of the disabled artists is conducted through KeenAble Creation Promotions Limited ("KPL") which is a wholly owned subsidiary of KCL. KPL is an asset locked company with creating work opportunities to the disabled in Hong Kong and promoting and selling their artworks being its mission. The assets of KPL cannot be transferred at a price less than the market value unless to a charity or an entity with similar asset locked value and with mission substantially similar to that of the KPL. All the profits of KPL go to KCL.

Founders

Ms Wanda Tong and Ms Chiu Lai Kuen co-founded the organisation. They share the common belief that KeenAble Creation can act as a vehicle to facilitate the disabled to help themselves thereby expressing their self-worth.

Wanda Tong

Ms Wanda Tong is a Hong Kong practising lawyer . Previously partner of international law firms Messrs Masons and Messrs Simmons & Simmons, she is currently the principal of a Hong Kong law firm, Wanda Tong & Company. She is also an executive committee member and honorary legal advisor of Families of SMA Charitable Trust and honorary legal advisor of China Literacy Foundation and Bernard Fung Memorial Fund.

Chiu Lai Kuen

Ms Chiu Lai Kuen was a business management consultant with over 20 years of experience in business development and management operation in Greater China and Silicon Valley covering industrial projects and consumer retail businesses.

 

Creative Director

Maxim Tang

Maxim, our Creative Director is a local artist born and bred in Hong Kong.  She is also the Honorary Chairman of the Hong Kong Association of Illustrators for Children’s Books.

She has attended and graduated from counselling courses organized by Innerspace Counseling Service Limited NLP; ICC Limited Enneagram Advantage Program; Basic Enneagram Trainer Course and story-telling & art therapy intense psychology pair therapy courses organized by Hong Kong Institute for Counselling Professionals.

A professional graphic designer and illustrator, Maxim is very active in promoting and developing local art.  She has been consultant and instructor of children’s art courses run by The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, Hong Kong Art Centre and Hong Kong Public Libraries. 

Maxim’s works have won a lot of awards, including the 7th TBDA ( Television Broadcast Design Award) in the USA;  the 5th Children’s Literature Story Awards Excellence Medal ( Overseas) in Taiwan (2003) for her work titled “好同學小米”; (the 16th Hong Kong Publication Excellence Award (2004)).  She was also the first person to receive the Hong Kong Drama Award for Best Poster Design for her work titled “墮落烏” in 2001 and won the same award again in 2004 for her work titled “兩條老柴玩遊戲”.   

Maxim has worked with many writers, publishers, arts organisations.  Her illustrations have been published in over 200 children’s books with different themes.

Tutors

May Wong

Graduated from the School of Design of Polytechnic University, May has worked for TVB as a TV advertisement art director.  She has also been project manager for numerous exhibitions and brand events.  May joined KeenAble Creation in 2011 as art tutor.  Apart from tutoring KeenAble’s workshop artists, May is also a freelance interior decorator.

Graduated from Nottingham Polytechnic University with a BA (Hons) Degree (1st Class Honours) in Fashion and Textile Design, Vivien has worked as fashion and handbag designer for different brands.She joined KeenAble Creation as art tutor in 2016.Apart from tutoring KeenAble’s workshop artists, Vivien has been an instructor of children’s art courses.She also has great interest in photography, yoga and hiking.

Freeman Wong

Freeman graduated from the School of Design of Caritas Bianchi College of Careers.He has also attended the School of Design of Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a Higher Diploma in Graphic Design.He has worked for publishers as art director and has been instructor of children’s art studios.Freeman joined KeenAble Creation in 2019 as art tutor.
